"DRAWING A LINE IN THE SAND"

2

The following four part series will be concluded by the end of July 2024.

The goal of this series of essays is to showcase Dr. Kevin D. Roberts the president of the Heritage Foundation, the conservative non-profit organization that is the creator, host, and operator of the anti-democratic, Christian Nationalism focused Project 2025.

In light of the glaring spotlight of Dr. Roberts’ recent declarative statement made on Tuesday July 2, 2024;

“And so I come full circle on this response and just want to encourage you with some substance that we are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be." Dr. Kevin D. Roberts

It is imperative to showcase the propagandistic-proselytizing efforts, methods, and rhetorical style of this MAGA leader.

I consider Roberts and his cohort of cronies to be genuine domestic enemies of the constitution of the United States of America, and my efforts via this essay series will hopefully help others to see how slick, deceptive, and corrupting is his messaging in support of the intolerant right-wing organizations all gathered together under the label of being a Project 2025 Advisory Board Member.

Part one:

For this essay I would like to draw your attention to a commentary penned by Kevin D. Roberts Ph.D. the president of the Heritage Foundation. The title of his piece is: America Must Reclaim What the Left Has Attempted to Destroy which was published this past July 25, 2023 at the think tank’s website.

Roberts, in my opinion, is arguably the premier thought leader of today’s movement-conservatism, especially in light of his position as it directly relates to the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 and its steadily numerically increasing advisory board members.

Part two:

It is here he begins to work his distortions into a sudden leap from one idea to another. Stating in one sentence that “Kirk traces the ideas that make up the American way of life” then in the next sentence he leapfrogs his readers minds into a new concept all together, that of “ordered liberty.” Those of you who might follow Supreme Court decisions and other important cases of law will have encountered the idea of ordered liberty, as it played a significant role in the decision to overturn Roe Vs. Wade thus stripping women of their right to maintain autonomy over their bodies and the health decisions that belong solely to them alone. As noted in an opinion piece published by The Hill titled, “Sophistry at the Supreme Court”→

→“The draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization infamously decides that pregnant females’ 49-year-old right to obtain an abortion no longer will be constitutionally protected. Writing for the five-justice majority, Justice Samuel Alito offers two reasons for this conclusion: The Constitution does not explicitly protect the right to abortion, and the right to obtain an abortion is neither “deeply rooted in [our] history and tradition” nor “essential to our Nation’s ‘scheme of ordered liberty.’””←

Part three:

It is this point in particular that Roberts is determined to establish in his readers minds what exactly it is “that conservatives need to conserve” namely and without stating in any precise terms he is intent on leading his readers to accept that what they as conservatives need to conserve is a Christian morality, most notably a biblical Christian morality.

Shortly after I finished part three I contracted COVID and was out of action for quite awhile; during all that time my mind would come back to this series knowing that it was important for me to finish it so that my readers could complete this series along with me.

Now that I am fully back in action and up to spending multiple hours a day reading, researching and writing I will be completing part four by the end of July 2024. To those of you who have been waiting for this series conclusion to be written I apologize for the unusually long delay and I thank you so very much for your patience.
